On failed connect, routing at the BT Interconnect Switch provides fallback routing to London ISDN, London SIP or Framlingham geographic routes, for X-on provided numbers.
Traffic can be routed via SIP to the alternative site in event of congestion or failure. Load balancing switches route traffic to the least busy IVR switches and can provide carrier pre-selection on outbound routes.
If any IVR fails, load balancing switches will reroute traffic. Multiple redundant IVR switch servers share data from file server and synchronized database resources.
